Sketch on design pages

Design pages are never published: try layouts, draw vectors or collect a moodboard there, then copy what works onto a page of your site.

A design page is a page of your project that is never published. Use it to try a layout before you build it, draw vectors, or collect a moodboard of images and colours, without anything reaching your site. Design pages are reaching workspaces in stages, so you may not see them yet.

Add a design page

  1. In Pages, find Design, under your site's pages.
  2. Choose Add design page. It opens as New design page; rename it like any page.

Your design pages are listed under Design, apart from your site's pages.

Work on it

A design page has the same canvas, tools and panels as any page: frames, stacks, text, images, your components and the vector tools. Your team edits it with you.

What stays off your site

  • A design page is never published. It has no address, no SEO settings and no folder, and it isn't in your sitemap.
  • Nothing on your site can link to it: links point at your site's pages only.

Take what works onto a page

Select the layers you want, copy them (⌘C, Ctrl+C on Windows), open the page they belong on, and paste them (⌘V). The design page keeps its own copy.
