Animate going from page to page
Pick how a page comes in when a visitor follows a link to it: a fade, a slide, a wipe, an inset or blinds.
Open the site menu and choose Page transitions…. Pick an Effect: Fade, Slide, Wipe, Inset or Blinds. A slide, a wipe and blinds also move in a Direction: up, down, left or right. Timing sets how long it takes and how it eases, as for any other transition. None turns it off.
A page of its own
In a page's Settings…, Arriving at this page picks how that page comes in: Same as the site, None, or an effect of its own, which wins over the site's. It is saved with the page's other settings.
Layout templates
A layout template's menu has Page transition…: it sets how the pages that use it come in. Between two of them only the content changes; the header and footer stay where they are. A page's own transition still wins.
Where it plays
Transitions play on the published site and in the preview, when a visitor follows a link from one page of the site to another. Browsers without page transitions, such as Firefox, open the page at once, and visitors who ask their device for reduced motion see none. The canvas doesn't play them.
